It was found that seed soaking with 0.15% chitosan had the best effect on increasing the content of soluble protein, free amino acids, soluble sugar and reducing cellulose content in cucumber; seed soaking with 0.2% chitosan had the best effect on increasing the content of vitamin C. In addition, in the leaf spray treatment, the optimal concentration for increasing soluble protein was 0.02%.


1. The effect of chitosan on the soluble protein content of cucumber

After the cucumber was treated with chitosan, the soluble protein content generally increased. Seed soaking with 0.15% chitosan and leaf spraying with 0.02% chitosan had the best effect. Compared with the control, It was increased by 28.5% and 10.6%, respectively.


2. The effect of chitosan on the content of free amino acids in cucumber

After the cucumber was treated with chitosan, the content of free amino acids increased significantly. Seed soaking with 0.15% chitosan and leaf spraying with 0.01% chitosan had the best effect. Compared with the control, It was increased by 55.3% and 22.4%, respectively.


3. The effect of chitosan on vitamin C content in cucumber

4. The effect of chitosan on the content of soluble sugar in cucumber

5. The effect of chitosan on the crude cellulose content of cucumber

Chitosan treatment can significantly reduce the crude cellulose content of cucumber. In addition, the cellulose content of cucumber was reduced by 25.2% after spray leaves with 0.01% chitosan solution.


6. The effect of chitosan on the yield of cucumber

Chitosan treatment can significantly increase the yield of cucumber. Among them, the effects of seed soaking with 0.15% chitosan solution and leaf spraying with 0.01% chitosan solution were the best. Compared with the control, the yield of cucumber was increased by 40.2% and 45.8%, respectively.
